I bought a Kodak Wireless printer.
Yes, it prints wireless.
No, it doesn't print from my iPad.
No, it doesn't scan wireless.
No, it doesn't read memory cards wireless.
No, too, for ethernet.
I don't believe that any of the printers scan wireless.
I may as well just plug it in and forget it.

Those combo printer/scanners don't work so well over wireless. The printing part
works but if I need to switch paper trays I have to get up and make the switch
manually. Haven't tried tackling a wireless scan, it's just easier using the USB
connection. : )

I tried the wireless keyboards and mice but I went back to USB after a while. It
became more of a pain finding replacement batteries. But the wireless printer
does really help. We have a few different PCs on the network at home and it
makes it easier share.

Well ... my printer (not a scanner/fax combo thing -- just a
good business sized duplex laser printer) has its own IP address, on my
network in the house, and I can print to it from any of my computers
(also wired ethernet). Several hubs -- one for outside the firewall,
one for inside the firewall, and one for down in the machine shop, each
on separate subnets firewalled from each other. The printers are on the
main internal subnet, invisible from the outside.

I do have a wireless hub, which is normally powered down, except
when I need to load new books into my Nook. This minimizes exposure to
people trying to steal internet connections from outside the house. (It
also has a good key -- a paragraph fed to a MD5 checksum program and the
output used as the key. Terrible to remember, but highly unlikely to be
guessed. :-)

Enjoy,
DoN.

I use my wireless scanner a lot. It's a lexmark and I can mostly use the
automatic document feeder. For heritage photos I have a different scanner
but for ordinary scanning no problem.

For printing from ipad my friend got an app for that which works, sorry
don't know the name.

Haven't tried the memory card yet but it has a slot

You folks are my heros. I had to install a free print server on my PC
(WePrint) and bought the 10 dollar app so I can print documents too.
BTW, I tried Kodak's app. It is a toy and a bad one at that.

I have a Canon MX420 that scans wirelessly. I usually bring up Photoshop
Elements and have it scan from within that. I've also sent a fax from it
wirelessly, although I had to get up and connect a phone line to it
first, since I don't normally have it connected all the time.

I don't have an iPad (or iANYTHING, for that matter) and haven't tried a
memory card. It has an ethernet port, but I haven't tried it.

Terry,

I have had luck with wireless scanning.

For home, I have a Canon MG6120 and it will scan with no issues to my
computer or my kids.

At work, I have purchased a few HP LaserJet CM2320 printers, and they
work OK also. I have had a couple of cases where I needed to
reinstall some software as the quit scanning.

Neither will print from the iPad, but the Canon printer has an app to
allow you to print pictures to your printer. I have yet to try it
though.

Just about anything I can access from an iPod/iPad I can get to from my laptop
so I haven't bother trying to setup printing. Might be convenient at times, but
don't know if I want to go through the headache of setting it up.

The bottom line: I ended up with Print n Share. For my Kodak printer
I had to install WePrint Server on my computer(free). It allows me to
print to any printer that is installed on my computer wirelessly. It
also has an email program better than iPads, calendar stuff, etc. It
is displayed in all "open in" menus on the iPad, so I can print most
everything easily. Thanks all for steering me in the right direction.

More on the bottom line. Someone on the internet suggesting
uninstalling and reinstalling the software, whoopie, everything works
great now. Prints and scans perfect.
